Savannah Guthrie’s Security Ramped up After Mom Nancy Was ‘Taken’ From Home

Concern about the personal safety of a prominent news host is growing. Savannah Guthrie has been absent from NBC’s Today to deal with a family emergency. Her mother, Nancy, went missing over the weekend. Worry about her well-being and her famous daughter’s is beginning to hit.

Savannah’s bosses are looking to have security by her side during this frightening ordeal. Chris Nanos with the Pima County Sheriff’s office says that Nancy was “taken” from her home. They are treating the matter as a criminal act, searching feverishly to track her down.

As they search for Nancy, NBC doesn’t want anything to happen to one of their big on-air talents. On Rob Shuter’s Substack page, Naughty but Nice, a network insider said, “NBC security has been in active talks with law enforcement all day.”

Police are treating this as a criminal act, and Chris now believes an abduction took place. Earlier today, there was a report that blood was found at Nancy’s house, though we don’t know whose it was. One veteran at NBC says Nancy’s disappearance has rattled many people. On the surface though all of them are trying to hold it together.

Nancy is 84 years old and lives alone in Arizona. She didn’t show up to her usual church service on Sunday raising red flags to her family.

Savannah’s co-hosting duties the opening ceremonies at the Milan Olympics later this month may not happen. She was to host the event alongside Terry Gannon. A senior source says there’s no universe in which she gets on a plane to Italy, as family comes first for her. The message they are sending to Savannah for now is to take care of her family, and they’ll handle the rest.
