Patrick Mahomes’ Dad Faces Tough Sentence Push From Prosecution

Blowing a second chance often comes with stiffer penalties. That’s what Patrick Mahomes Sr. may soon discover. The father of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be watching Sunday’s Super Bowl in a very different place than the past three, behind bars.

The former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher, who is often called Pat, was arrested this week for violating the terms of his probation. It’s alleged that he recently drank alcohol, which he’s not supposed to do under his probationary terms. In 2024, he was sentenced to five years’ probation to go along with one year of intense supervision for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

Pat might not be getting off so easily for his most recent alleged offence. His probation officer was alerted to the potential violation after Pat’s alcohol monitoring ankle device showed a high reading on New Year’s Day. He is facing a possible 10-year prison sentence as a result.

The prosecutor adds that he did not perform his community service at the required rate. He was supposed to do three hours per month for several months. According to the violation report, the former pitcher underwent urine tests on January 5 and 9th. Both results apparently returning negative results.

This is yet another strike against Patrick’s father, who has a history of violations related to alcohol. He’d previously been arrested at least three times for DWI. One occurred days before his son captured the Super Bowl for the third time in 2024. Patrick and his wife, Brittany, welcomed a third child in early 2025.

Ultimately, it will be a judge who decides whether the elderly Mahomes has his probation revoked and possibly sent to jail. He’s due to appear in court on March 9, where he’ll have the opportunity to plead his case. Until that hearing, he is to remain in lockup at the Smith County Jail.

TELL US – WOULD 10 YEARS BE TOO HARSH A SENTENCE FOR PAT’S ALLEGED VIOLATION?
