Bad Bunny made history during the Super Bowl Halftime Show this weekend, becoming the first artist to perform the 13-minute segment entirely in Spanish. But, just hours afterwards, he shocked fans by deleting all of his posts on Instagram.
Bad Bunny deleted all of his Instagram posts after the Super Bowl

While many would think now is a time for celebration for Bad Bunny, perhaps with a few social media posts about his history-making Halftime Show, it seems the artist has done quite the opposite. He’s deleted all his Instagram posts, including his profile photo, and unfollowed everyone. Now, all that remains is a link to his Grammy Award-winning album … and 52.3 million followers.
Bad Bunny (real name: Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) did not warn his fans ahead of the Instagram blackout. But there’s plenty of speculation about why he chose to delete everything. Some have theorized that he is preparing to make a big announcement, while others think it is a response to the backlash he received for performing the show in Spanish.
“Deletes all posts and unfollows everyone after the Super Bowl? Yeah, that’s a statement,” said @halftimeculture on X. “Both hate and love are good for his music business and image. Watch him drop an album or something soon,” wrote @ChigaemezuAnth1. “This is quite strange,” added @tg_uzy.
President Donald Trump was among Bad Bunny’s critics on the night. In a post on Truth Social, he branded the musician’s performance as “absolutely terrible.”
“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting,” he went on, adding that he thinks Bad Bunny’s performance was a “slap in the face” to the US.
On the flip side, plenty of fans and celebrity faces disagreed. Lady Gaga and Pedro Pascal were among the celebrities who joined Bad Bunny for his performance. And social media is awash with praise for Bad Bunny’s historic Halftime Show.
