A security expert believes the missing mother’s roof camera could hold a lot of valuable information about her disappearance. The mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie was last seen on Saturday, January 31st. The following day, she missed her usual church service in Arizona, and the search for her remains ongoing.
Dan Donovan is the founder of Stratoscope Holdings, a risk management firm which specializes in event security operations. He says the roof camera in Nancy’s home is “not a throwaway detail.”
The search for Nancy Guthrie enters its second week
At this point, investigators are taking any possible information seriously. The camera could be a crucial piece of evidence. Dan isn’t a part of the search for Nancy but tells US Weekly that the camera’s location indicates this incident was premeditated. “A camera on the roof suggests surveillance, planning and situational awareness. That’s not the behavior of someone improvising,” he says.
Dan suggests that this may mean her alleged kidnappers were watching entry points or police response patterns. He also believes that it might indicate that the perpetrators were monitoring her place to see who came and went. Last week, police confirmed blood was found at Nancy’s house in Tuscon which belonged to the 84-year-old.
A reported ransom of $6 million was demanded in Nancy’s case. Dan says that if that is legit, it could spell danger. He says that reinforced how critical the situation may be. He adds that operational criminals tend to follow through on threats when they feel control slipping away.
Nancy’s family have said they’re ready to talk to those who may have taken her. They are asking for proof of life. FBI agents were seen scaling the roof of her home last week, removing what appeared to be a wired camera.
