Olympian Confesses to Affair During Live Interview at 2026 Winter Olympics

You wouldn’t know this Olympic athlete achieved a goal many can only dream about. Sturla Holm Lægreid recently captured a bronze medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics in the men’s 20km Biathlon event.

Afterwards, in an interview, the Norwegian broke down in tears, but it didn’t appear to be the joyous kind. He admitted on the air that he had been unfaithful to his partner in the months leading up to the Games in Milano Cortina. He made a shocking admission to the woman shortly before the 2026 Olympics were to begin.

The confessions of an Olympic medallist are sending shockwaves in public. One wonders what kind of mental state Sturla was in leading up to his race. “This has been the worst week of my life,” he said in an interview with a Norwegian news outlet, NRK, after winning bronze. He says that he met the love of his life six months ago. Three months into their relationship, he admits that he committed a huge mistake by being unfaithful to her.

While he didn’t name her, Sturla says he confessed this to the woman about a week ago. “Sport has come second these last few days,” shared the emotional Norwegian. We’re only a few days into these Olympics, and there has been a roller coaster of emotions on many fronts. One involves Lindsey Vonn, who suffered a horrific crash in her comeback race on the downhill circuit this past weekend.

As for why Sturla went public with this revelation, he says that he felt an obligation after winning a medal. He says he tries to be a good role model but admits he’s done some stupid things. Sturla declared that he only had eyes for the woman whom he hurt.

His third-place finish was the second medal he’s collected in a Winter Olympic event. Four years earlier, he was a part of the Norwegian relay team which won gold in Beijing.
