The White House Press Secretary is getting some backlash for her remarks about the Jeffrey Epstein files. Karoline Leavitt was asked about the files with millions more only recently released. Karoline said at a press briefing, “We’re moving on from that.” That is on par with the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) take on the matter.
That is not an option for Elizabeth Stein at this stage. She was 21 when she claims to have been introduced to Ghislaine Maxwell, a close associate and ex-girlfriend of Jeffrey. Ghislaine is serving time after a sex trafficking conviction. Elizabeth spoke out against Karoline’s comments on Wednesday.
The Epstein Files continue to be drip-fed to the public
A longtime anti-trafficking advocate is calling on the nation to send a message following the release of millions of documents in the Epstein files. Elizabeth says that it’s important not to “protect people who victimize children.” She emphasized the importance of standing up for what is right, despite what our politics are. Elizabeth called on people to stand behind survivors in pursuit of justice.
In response to Karoline and the DOJ’s intention to move on, Elizabeth said, “I wish that we could.” Elizabeth, who is nearly 53, says they cannot move on as victims and citizens without changing this narrative. She’s demanding accountability from the government, while pledging victims will do just that.
Congressman Jamie Raskin says that he had a look at the release of many of the documents in the Epstein files. He claims that Donald Trump’s name had been redacted “over a million times.”
Elizabeth previously said that she was an intern at a luxury department store when meeting Ghislaine. They eventually met up, according to her, at the St. Regis Hotel, where Ghislaine allegedly introduced Elizabeth to Jeffrey. Elizabeth claims that Jeffrey, Elizabeth and unnamed people raped her. She says that she didn’t realize she’d been trafficked until Jeffrey’s arrest in 2019.
While the President’s name was allegedly redacted countless times in the Epstein files, the names of numerous victims apparently weren’t. That has drawn outrage from the public and TV pundits, including the panel on The View.
