In a recent press conference, Karoline Leavitt shared an update on Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping case, along with Donald Trump’s first reaction, while reviewing the recovered security footage.

“His initial reaction was, of course, as all Americans is just pure disgust,” Leavitt said. “The president directed me to please encourage all Americans with any information to call the FBI.”

The footage in question refers to the clips shared by FBI Director Kash Patel on February 10 on X (formerly Twitter). His post stated that the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are working with private partners to recover images and videos that were damaged at Nancy’s home.

Patel then uploaded a few clips from the doorbell camera that the department recovered. They show the suspect wearing a mask, gloves, and a jacket. In the footage, the suspect also appeared to have a gun holstered on the front. The suspect is then seen attempting to cover the camera with his hand and later with flowers from the front porch.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, is the mother of NBC Today show’s co-host, Savannah Guthrie. She reportedly went missing after her son-in-law dropped her off outside her house in Tucson, Arizona, on the evening of January 31 (via NBC News). Her family notified the Pima County Sheriff’s Department the following day.

On February 3, TMZ reported that the family had allegedly received a ransom note, demanding payment in Bitcoin. On February 5, Savannah uploaded an Instagram video with the family, saying that the family is ready to talk. However, she added, “We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department later addressed the ransom, talking about a second deadline to meet the ransom demands.
