Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi’s Relationship Is Not What It Seems

Margot Robbie says that her comment on “codependency” with her co-star Jacob Elordi has been “taken out of context.” Earlier, the “Barbie” actor shared that she becomes codependent with people she works with, adding that she feels “devastated when a job’s over.”

Robbie further revealed that she developed a similar feeling with her “Wuthering Heights” co-star, Elordi, as well, “quite quickly.” Their close bond on set, along with this remark, sparked a lot of speculation and buzz online. However, Robbie clarified in a recent interview that things were “blown” way out of proportion.

Margot Robbie clarifies her and Jacob Elordi’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ characters are ‘co-dependent’

Margot Robbie and Jacord Elordi got quite close during the filming of Emerald Fennell’s 2026 directorial “Wuthering Heights.” During a new cast interview with Fandango, Robbie shared her working experience with her co-star. She mentioned being “codependent” with people she works with.

“I’m always that person who’s so devastated when a job’s over and I never want it to end,” The Oscar nominee continued. Robbie even mentioned having developed that quickly with Elordi. She even went on to say that she would look around to see where Elordi was and felt “like a kid without their blanket” when he wasn’t there.

This created a lot of speculation online, with rumors flying about them. Recently, Robbie cleared the air in an interview with Glamour. She talked about her character in the film, “Wuthering Heights,” saying Cathy and Heathcliff do have a “codpendency” and that their relationship is really captivating.

Talking about her co-dependency comment, she said, “Unfortunately, that whole co-dependency thing has been really taken out of context and blown way up.” Robbie explained further, “What I was saying was we had a really fun time, all of us working on this film, and I really love making movies and when I get to make them with really cool people that you become friends with, it’s really sad when the job ends.”
