Taylor Swift can thank the love of her life for this iconic remix. Travis Kelce previously exchanged text messages with producer Chris Lake. Chris vowed to remix the pop icon’s song Opalite from her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The producer listened to the tracks and evidently believed he could make it even better. He said that he’d listened to a handful of tracks from that album, and apparently, Opalite was one that caught his attention. Taylor’s fiancé is gushing over what Chris came up with.
Travis Kelce helped get Chris Lake on Taylor Swift’s track
Opalite holds extra meaning for Taylor and Travis. That is a tune about finding true love after heartbreak. The two superstars began their romance publicly in 2023. Evidently, Travis would stop at nothing to make that song as good as possible. Chris revealed the messages he had with the NFL star on Instagram. Travis told Chris how much he loved the Fish at Coachella set, which featured the DJ and producer in 2023. Taylor and Travis are getting married though there is no official date as of now.
Three days after the pledge to remix the song, Chris came back with a new version. Travis was beaming with excitement and praise upon hearing it. Chris says he did something “really cool” with the track. Travis was gushing over the track while adding that Taylor was equally impressed upon hearing it.
In October, there was widespread speculation that The Life of a Showgirl was about Travis. Travis has said he’s a lucky guy to be Taylor’s support system.
The Life of a Showgirl album was released on October 3, receiving mixed reviews. On Friday, Taylor shared the pre-order link to the single for the limited-edition CD set.
