Barack Obama Seemingly Saves Michelle Obama from Basketball at NBA Game

Former president Barack Obama‘s wife, Michelle Obama, appeared to have had a courtside scare that turned into a highlight. The two watched the NBA All-Star showcase when a loose ball flew their way. The ex-commander-in-chief grabbed it calmly and sent it back.

The clip showed Devin Booker slowing his run as Nikola Jokic closed in. The former first lady, the “Becoming” author, stayed seated and smiling.

As per Daily Mail, the moment happened at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. Obama and Michelle were seated courtside during the 75th NBA All-Star Game. A fast sequence sent the ball toward the sideline as Jokic and Booker sprinted after it. Booker appeared to shift his body between the play and the seating row. Obama then caught the ball with both hands and tossed it back to the floor.

Afterwards, the Suns guard reportedly shook hands and shared a brief hug with the former president. Meanwhile, Michelle stayed close and watched the exchange, as the crowd reacted. Still, the scene lasted seconds, and the play moved on quickly.

Even so, the NBA All-Star game clip fit his basketball image. He has long been known for pickup runs and fan moments. He was also famously nicknamed “Barry O’Bomber” by teammates at Punahou School for his knack for attempting difficult shots. Their daughter, Sasha, was also photographed with them before tipoff, per the report.

Earlier that day, Obama posted a Valentine photo with Michelle in matching black looks. He captioned it, “Celebrated Valentine’s Day with my forever dance partner. Love you, Miche!”
