The search for Nancy Guthrie may become a long-term, ongoing matter. That’s the latest update from Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos. It’s been over two weeks since the mother of TV host Savannah Guthrie went missing in her Tucson, Arizona, home.
There were plenty of potential leads coming into the FBI and police last week, but still no sign of the 84-year-old. Chris admits that the timeline for locating her is unpredictable. “Maybe it’s an hour from now. Maybe it’s weeks or months or years from now.” Police previously found Nancy’s blood at her home.
The search for Nancy Guthrie enters its third week

The agonizing wait for the Guthrie’s will continue as concern grows. While Chris’s update leaves plenty up in the air, he did make one promise. “We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy,” he tells the New York Times. We’re entering week three in the search for Nancy.
Chris notes they are looking hard for her and recently found what could be another lead. Authorities have confirmed finding several gloves during the investigation at Nancy’s property. Meanwhile, they released a suspect description last week of the guy they believe is responsible. The FBI is also doubling the reward for information that leads to an arrest or the location of Nancy from $50,000 to $100,000.
As for the latest evidence, a statement on Friday says they found the closest gloves about two miles from Nancy’s house. A suspect had previously been detained in this matter, though he was later released. The man said he had no idea who Nancy or Savannah were.
Security cam footage from the mother of three’s front door revealed someone with a mask. With the help of biometrics, the FBI released a physical description. Several ransom notes had been previously sent to news outlets regarding this case.
