Jonathan Owens, who is married to Simone Biles, has opened up about a terrifying encounter during the Winter Olympics 2026. Just one day after making an appearance at the games alongside his wife, the Chicago Bears player has revealed he was almost robbed while out and about in Milan.
Jonathan Owens opened up about his experience in Milan
“Somebody just tried to snatch my shopping bag in Milan,” Jonathan said on social media on February 15. Luckily, Jonathan said he was able to keep hold of his bag and remained unharmed himself.
“[By] force of habit, I had it tied around my hand so he couldn’t get it,” he explained, describing the ordeal as “crazy.”
Elaborating on the almost-robbery, Jonathan replied to several fan questions with more details. “[You] should’ve seen his face once he realized I turned around and he couldn’t grab it,” he said of the attacker.
In another response, Jonathan credited social media for preparing him for such a situation. “[There] was no way he could get it off my hand. I’ve seen too many TikToks of that happening,” he said.
Elsewhere, Jonathan commented on how the attacker chose the wrong person to try to steal from. “It was hilarious,” he recalled. “He started running away once he saw he couldn’t grab it out of my hand.”
Thankfully, Jonathan and Simone didn’t let the experience ruin their time in Italy. She took to her Instagram Stories later that day to give fans an insight into their trip. In one post, the husband and wife went out to dinner and enjoyed the “best” pasta they “ever had.”
“I will be dreaming about these,” Simone said of the dishes she and Jonathan enjoyed on their dinner date.
