Taylor Swift is opposing bedding brand

Taylor Swift is opposing the use of the bedding brand name, “Swift Home.” Rolling Stone has reviewed a filing from the singer’s legal team, who have opposed the styling of the word “Swift.” According to her legal team, Cathay Home’s styling of the word “Swift” appears to be similar to the singer’s cursive signature.

The legal filing notes that the singer writes her last name in her own signature style. In fact, her ardent fans can recognize this as her unique style. The document states, “The word ‘SWIFT’ is displayed in [Cathay Home’s] mark in a stylized cursive font, which is highly similar to the manner in which ‘SWIFT’ is displayed in the registrations noted above, which is a custom font intended to approximate the Artist’s handwriting.”

The “Opalite” singer’s team noted that the similarities with her handwriting create a “false association” with the singer. Her team argued that it was done with the intent of using her “goodwill and recognition”. (via BBC). For those unversed, Cathay Home had applied for a “Swift Home” trademark for its signature bedding items in late 2025.

According to Rolling Stone, TAS Rights Management LLC is the company that handles the singer’s trademarks and brand rights. It formally challenged Cathay Home’s trademark in November 2025 and again on February 11 this year.

In a new update, Cathay Home withdrew its application over the weekend, following an appeal by the “Lover” singer to the US Patent Office. Also, arepresentative for Cathay Home told BBC that the decision was made since the disputed mark was not “essential to its business.”

Cathay Home’s lawyer, Ting Geng, said in a statement: “Such decisions are often practical and commercially sensible.” Geng explained that the two parties had previously reached a “consent-to-coexist agreement.” In fact, Swift has filed 300 trademarks in the U.S. to secure her artistic rights from unfair exploitation.
