Why NBC Correspondent Colin Jost Thought He Was ‘Going To Die’ at 2026 Winter Olympics

While serving as an NBC correspondent for the 2026 Winter Olympics, Colin Jost took a run down the bobsled track. It was the most terrifying experience of his life.

“I went down the bobsled,” he told NBC’s Mike Tirico. Although he went “with a very gifted driver, I was not prepared for the level of terror of this bobsled. I swear to God, I thought I was going to die.”

Indeed, he should have stuck to the bobsled at Disneyland. That one was scary enough for me.

Rather than sending the Saturday Night Live anchor to Italy, Colin was at the bobsled run in Lake Placid, New York, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics. In an NBC exclusive video, Colin shrieked in sheer fright, plummeting down the twists and turns of the track.

“I thought my back was going to snap in half,” he reported. “I thought my bones were going to fly off my body and be littered all up and down the bobsled track. It was by far the scariest experience I’ve ever had in my life.”

After conquering the bobsled track, he joked that while some might consider him a “classic athlete,” he might be better suited for the role of “hair correspondent.” He does have great hair.

Meanwhile in other Olympic news, Colin mentioned rumors that some Olympic ski-jumpers are injecting their penises with hyaluronic acid to improve performance. Apparently, the SNL star was game to give it a try.

“I’ve had my eye on all of the crotches,” he commented. “I wanted to really get myself in the mindset … [But I might have injected] maybe too much hyaluronic acid.”

As the camera panned out to reveal his pixilated crotch, Colin joked about his wife’s reaction. “I don’t know,” he laughed. “Scarlett [Johansson]’s excited.”

“We’re going to see if I can break all kinds of records,” he concluded. “I might be able to jump all the way to Italy with this thing. So watch out, Olympians. I’m coming for you.”
