Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been photographed for the first time since his arrest early on Thursday, February 19. The former prince left the Aylsham Police Station in Norfolk, near his Sandringham estate home, after spending approximately 11 hours in custody. At 8 am local time, police officers arrived at the Wood Farm property, where Andrew was arrested for “suspicion of misconduct in public office.”
Thames Valley Police initially wouldn’t confirm the identity of the man, described as in his sixties, arrested at the estate. However, the BBC reported than man arrested was Andrew, and his homes were currently being searched by police. King Charles released a statement also confirming the arrest, emphasizing that “the law must take its course.”

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” the statement began. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.”
The King continued, stating that the police have “our full and wholehearted support and co-operation.” “As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter,” he added.
“As this process continues,” he concluded, “it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter.”
Details, including the charges made against Andrew, are yet to be fully revealed. The former prince has been plagued by numerous scandals due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein, a now-deceased convicted sex offender, was once a close confidant of the brother of King Charles. However, Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in his ties to Epstein. In a 2019 BBC interview, he expressed regret over how long it took to dissociate himself from Epstein.
