The Fox News host and daughter-in-law of the president recently opened up about potential political ambitions within the family. Lara Trump comments on family’s future
During an appearance on the Pod Force One podcast, Lara Trump addressed speculation about whether the Trump family name will appear on future ballots. When the host asked about potential presidential runs by Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., or Lara Trump herself, her response hinted at a political dynasty in the making.
“That’s something I think that possibly interests many of us,” Lara Trump said. “And I know the Democrats will love to hear that — that it may not end just with Donald Trump. But I do think that the timing has to be right for all of us.” Lara Trump further revealed she had previously considered launching separate bids for the Senate. It included North Carolina during the 2022 and upcoming midterms. Plus, a potential campaign in Florida after relocating there with her family. She credited her father-in-law’s influence for inspiring these considerations.
“I have looked at my father-in-law over the past 11, almost 12 years now, and I’ve watched the impact that he’s been able to make on people’s lives,” she explained. “And it’s amazing.” The former RNC co-chair emphasized how the president’s resilience has motivated the entire family, noting that Donald Trump has “dealt with hell” while making a difference in Americans’ lives. “It’s really inspired me, and I think it’s inspired everyone in our family, so much so that I’ve considered running for a possible Senate seat,” she said. “So I would never say never to anything.”
When asked about Donald Trump’s reaction to their political considerations, Lara Trump described him as her biggest champion. “In fact, so much so, that he would call me multiple times a week with multiple people from different backgrounds to say, ‘This person thinks you’d be great. You got to do it,” she shared.
