Hilary Duff Compares Estrangement From Sister Haylie To Divorce From Ex

Hilary Duff compared her estrangement from her sister, Haylie Duff, and her divorce from her ex-husband. The singer-actor, who recently made a musical comeback with her sixth studio album, titled “Luck… or Something,” sat for an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone magazine. During the interview, the artist went candid about her “strained relationship” with her older sister.

Hilary Duff calls estrangement from sister Haylie the ‘most lonely part of my life’

Hilary Duff recently revealed that her estrangement from her older sister, Haylie Duff, has been the “most lonely part” of her life, in a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine. During the interview, the singer-actor expressed, “I feel almost like when I got divorced [in 2015], where I dealt with it privately.” She continued, “And then the news comes out and you’re like, ‘OK, great. I’m going to deal with this all over again.'”

In the meantime, Hilary Duff further explained in the interview, “I was prepared, a little bit. I made a choice to put that song on my record,” while referring to the song, “We Don’t Talk.” Some lyrics of the song read, “Cause we come from the same home, the same blood/A different combination but the same lock.” During the interview, the artist also disclosed, “That’s definitely the most lonely part of my life,” seemingly referring to her estrangement from her sister, Haylie Duff. She added, “And I struggled with, ‘Am I going to share this?'”

Meanwhile, Hilary Duff also spoke about the song “We Don’t Talk” without naming its subject directly. The singer-actor said, “People have known my life since I was a child.” She continued, “And so they know all the characters in it and they know what I’m talking about.” The artist further expressed, “For me, it was important to be open about that theme.” “It genuinely came from the heart,” she added.
