Amid the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie and the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein files, FBI Director Kash Patel has found himself at the center of controversy after he was filmed celebrating with the US hockey team at the Winter Olympics.
Some people also supported Kash Patel’s right to “time off”
Over the weekend, FBI Director Kash headed to Italy for the Winter Olympics. He watched the US men’s hockey team take the gold medal, then celebrated in the locker room by downing a bottle of beer and chanting with the players. A clip of the moment quickly went viral on social media, receiving a mixed reaction.
Some people criticized Kash for not focusing on the many ongoing cases the FBI is dealing with right now, such as the armed man who was shot dead while trying to enter President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. On the flip side, others welcomed Kash’s support for the sports team, and defended his right to time off.
“You can party with hockey players all you want when you’re no longer the Director of the FBI. Just do your job while you have it,” said @franklinleonard on X. “Don’t be that disingenuous. It’s Sunday. You don’t work 7 days a week either,” replied @hkscoobydoo.
Kash has also weighed in on the conversation, taking to X to share his own response. “For the very concerned media – yes, I love America,” he said via his official @Kash_Patel account. “[I] was extremely humbled when my friends, the newly minted Gold Medal winners on Team USA, invited me into the locker room to celebrate this historic moment with the boys.”
He ended his post by saying: “Greatest country on earth and greatest sport on earth.”
