Hilary Duff hints that Ashley Tisdale’s toxic mom group drama is ‘not new for her’
Hilary Duff talked in detail about her new album, “luck… or something,” in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. The “Lizzie McGuire” actor talked about the drama surrounding the “toxic mom group” mentioned by Ashley Tisdale.
Tisdale wrote a personal essay titled “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group” for The Cut. She mentioned that she felt sidelined and hurt by a group of celebrity moms she once hung out with. This eventually resulted in her breaking up with the group. She didn’t mention any names. However, fans connected the dots based on her social media interactions and photos and speculated that she was talking about Duff, Mandy Moore, and others.
Recently, Duff talked about the drama that unfolded and shared her sentiments about the same. During the interview, she was asked if the incident gave her pause about re-entering the pop world. She responded that all this is “not new” for her.
Duff explained, “I’ve had this since I was maybe 15 and starting to get followed around by paparazzi. Everything starts getting documented and everyone knows my life and all the players in it. So the stories that get news pickup — it’s not what happens to a normal person who maybe became an actor as an adult.”
She continued, “And now it’s escalated by the talking heads on TikTok that need clickbait.” When asked if she can “ignore the chatter” on social media, she responded that it “depends on the day.” There are days when she just goes home and “quiet the noise.”
