Chris Hemsworth’s kids ‘don’t care at all’ their dad’s a global movie star
While attending the “Crime 101” premiere at United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles on February 10, Chris Hemsworth was asked whether his movie star status earns him any “cool points” with his kids. He told PEOPLE, “They don’t care. They don’t care at all.” He further explained that his kids were impressed with his acting career when they were younger, but don’t feel the same now.
Hemsworth revealed to PEOPLE, “I reckon when they first realized I was Thor, they thought it was really cool. And then they realized they couldn’t fly and they thought it was less cool. Now they’re just like, ‘ah, Dad, whatever.’ Teenagers.” He left the United States with his family in 2015 and now resides in Byron Bay, located south of Australia’s Gold Coast.
Earlier this month, Hemsworth and Pataky revealed what it is like to raise their three children in the surf town. In a candid conversation with PEOPLE, the “Avengers: Endgame” star said, “It feels like summer all year round where we live. We got a big plot of land, a farm with horses, and our kids surf and fish and ride motorbikes all day. And we pretty much do the same.”
In “Crime 101,” Hemsworth appears as a jewel thief, Mike Davis. The film is based on Don Winslow’s novella. It also stars Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte. Berry plays an insurance broker, Sharon Coombs, who teams up with Mike for a heist.
