Ioan Gruffudd and ex-wife Alice Evans recently faced off in court. The Fantastic Four actor testified that his former wife threatened to ‘Amber Heard’ him, referring to Johnny Depp’s former wife.
The Welsh actor attempted to file a permanent restraining order against Alice during their contentious divorce. The couple married in September 2007 and separated in January 2021, filing for divorce two months later. The divorce was finalized in 2023.

According to a RadarOnline report, Ioan accused the Vampire Diaries actress of calling him a “child abuser, pedophile and drug addict. It was devastating for me as a father to have that kind of false narrative out there,” he told the Los Angeles court.
He described how his British-American ex “began loudly berating and threatening and accusing” him when he dropped off their children. The couple share two daughters, Elsie, 11, and Ella 15.
Alice allegedly referred to Amber’s accusations of domestic violence in her divorce from Johnny when threatening Ioan. “She said she was going to destroy me and she was going to ‘Amber Heard’ me. Then she said to the girls, ‘If daddy is ever weird or creepy with you in a physical way, please let me know.’ Then she started screaming and yelling obscenities at the top of her lungs. She was so aggressive – out of control. It was very upsetting and disturbing,” Ioan recalled.
He added that Alice also threatened him with physical violence. He told the court, “I was incredibly upset and mortified” after she texted that “she was going to dedicate her life to fighting me.”
Ioan accused his ex of hiring a private detective to follow his current wife, Australian Bianca Wallace. He added that she threatened to falsely accuse Bianca of a crime so she would be deported.
Ioan is asking the court to renew the restraining order against his ex. Alice, who denies the harassment, is asking the judge to refuse the order. She also wants an increase in the $4,500 a month she receives for child and spousal support. Ioan wants to end the support due to Alice’s alleged harassment.
