Hillary Clinton is firing back at one of her former political rivals. The 2016 Democratic candidate for President released a statement before Congress about the Jeffrey Epstein files. Her name, along with her husband and former President Bill Clinton are in those documents.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee subpoenaed her on the assumption that she had details about Jeffrey and Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking scandal. Hillary claims that her questioning is merely a tactical “cover-up.” She is urging politicians to ask President Donald Trump about the Epstein files under oath.
A US congressional committee is investigating the Jeffrey Epstein cast
Hillary had some choice words about the congressional committee. In her statement posted on her X account, she says, like many, that she was horrified to learn about the sex trafficking scandal involving the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine. “I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein,” claimed Hillary. She accuses the House Committee of making “little effort to call the people who show up most prominently in the Epstein files.”
Among those names that were reportedly redacted countless times was the current President. Congressman Jamie Raskin claimed many of the Epstein file documents had Donald’s name on them. Democratic Representative Ted Lieu has said the mentions of Bill and Hillary in the documents are a distraction tactic to protect the President.
In her statement, Hillary alleges to the chairman, ranking members, and those in the committee that there have been zero public hearings regarding the Epstein files. She also notes that eight law enforcement officials had previously been subpoenaed. Many of them had either directed the FBI or run the Department of Justice. She says, “Of those eight, only one appeared before the Committee.”
The former Secretary of State gave a sworn declaration on January 13th saying she didn’t know about Jeffrey’s wrongdoing. Bill will testify tomorrow.
