On a recent episode of “New Heights”, which he co-hosts with brother Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce shared that his youngest daughter, Finnley, met Chris Stapleton before she was ever introduced to Travis.
Recalling a George Strait concert appearance, Jason explained that Finnley was still a newborn at the time and couldn’t be left at home. “Chris met Finnley before you met Fin,” Jason told Travis on the podcast, catching him off guard. Stapleton remembered the moment, too, noting Jason had brought a “tiny baby” backstage.
The conversation quickly turned sweet when Jason revealed a piece of parenting advice Stapleton shared that stuck with him. It was the unforgettable “new baby smell.” Stapleton, a father of five, admitted newborn scent is something parents truly cherish. “New baby smell is a great thing,” the singer said, joking that asking to smell someone else’s baby might sound “creepy.”
Jason agreed, explaining that any parent understands how meaningful those fleeting early months are. Travis chimed in as well, calling it a “beautiful thing.” Jason and wife, Kylie, share four daughters, Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, and family stories frequently pop up on the podcast.
