Jeff Bezos will be allowed to bring his personal security inside the Met Gala 2026

The Met Gala 2026 has reportedly permitted Jeff Bezos to have his personal security team at the star-studded NYC event. Thus, the businessman can allegedly bring his own security along with his wife, Lauren Sanchez, to the annual fundraiser. According to Rob Shuter of “Naughty But Nice,” this exception made by the Met is “no small feat.”

In the meantime, per the news outlet, a source told them that “Normally, no one gets their own team inside.” The person continued, “Security is handled by the museum and Vogue.” The source further explained, “The goal is elegance — not a swarm of agents.”

The news outlet also reported that the Met Gala usually allows “government officials” to “receive scaled-down protection.” Meanwhile, A-list celebrities, donning rare diamond jewelry, can reportedly sometimes get permission to “have a guard nearby.” However, no one has allegedly received this kind of exception except for Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez.

Another insider said to the news outlet, “Jeff’s security footprint is different.” The person continued, “When you’re worth nearly a quarter of a trillion dollars, accommodations get made.” “Plus, he is basically paying for the party as the main sponsor, so he can do whatever he wants,” added the insider.
