Podcaster Sofia Franklyn is releasing a tell-all memoir that details her past relationship with former friend and podcaster Alex Cooper. Sofia and Alex launched the popular Call Her Daddy podcast in 2018.
The former roommates parted ways in 2020 due to a disagreement over contract negotiations with Dave Portnoy, founder and CEO of Barstool Sports. Alex ended up taking the deal without Sofia.

Publishing house Simon & Schuster announced on Wednesday, February 25, that Sofia’s memoir, Daddy Issues, will be published on November 10. The cover gives away the content, with a picture of Sofia next to a blond-haired woman cut out of the photo. The press release says the book shares little-known details about Sofia’s podcast partnership with Alex.
The new book also details the falling out between the host of Sofia with an F and Alex. According to the press release, in the book, Sofia discusses how she became the “villain in the internet’s messiest breakup. My story has only been told for me. And if you asked me to write this book five years ago you would have gotten a different story—fearful, vengeful, insecure, wounded with something to prove. I couldn’t live truthfully until I told it in my own words, on my own terms, and in the most radically honest way I know how.”
Alex detailed her side of the dispute in last year’s Call Her Alex Hulu docuseries. She recalls how Call Her Daddy’s focus on sex and dating advice made big money for Barstool Sports, the podcast’s original distributor. The former friends had the opportunity to own their podcast’s IP in exchange for a year’s contract extension with Barstool. Alex recalled, “Sofia didn’t want to take the deal, but I did, so I stayed. I realized the ‘Daddy Gang’ was bigger than both of us.”
