In case you haven’t been keeping track, we’re now on the fifth Married to Medicine episode in a row where they’ve been on a cast trip, and I’m totally here for it. These doctors are OOO.

In Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 12, “Red Flag, Green Flag,” the trip to Jamaica continued with all of the couples on board. When we last left off, they had just taken a brief pause from fighting about the Med Gala to make space for a community service project. This week, however, it was back to their regularly scheduled messiness.

Like most of the couples’ trips on Married to Medicine, Season 12’s Jamaica trip went completely off the rails this week. Some people are failing to adhere to Dr. Eugene’s “pledge of friendship.” The hot topic in this group is the Med Gala, and no one seems to be able to talk about it without screaming. In the end, Eugene reached a breaking point, and he decided to go directly to Dr. Damon to share his concerns.

The Med Gala looms over the group

In last week’s episode, right before doing the medical mission, Heavenly, Toya, Eugene, and Damon clashed over the Med Gala details. Heavenly is adamant that Eugene and Toya owe them an apology for not contributing to the previous events. Episode 12 picked up with everyone involved still feeling bitter about the drama.

Eugene and Toya have made it clear that they aren’t apologizing for bringing wine instead of cash to the previous year’s event. They’re also not backing down from demanding the rest of the cast to throw down a few grand to make this year’s event come to life.

Toya had a dinner planned for all of the couples, where she knew the topic would be revisted. Before dinner, Toya warned Eugene not to let the drama get to him.

“I don’t want you to let Heavenly get under your skin,” she told Eugene.

He replied, “Nobody’s under my skin, I just don’t like it when people lie on my wife.”

Toya is trying to legitimize the Med Gala, but Eugene is frustrated that anytime they try to have a conversation about it, Heavenly flies off the handle. It might not be getting under his skin, but it’s certain doing something.

Dr. Mimi doesn’t think Toya is a “safe” friend

Of course, a dinner is never just a dinner on a show like M2M. While everyone was trying to enjoy their crab cakes, Toya called Mimi out. She caught wind that Mimi had concerns about her ability to host the couples trip. Simone told her everything.

When confronted, Mimi admitted that she didn’t feel like Toya was a “safe” friend. She had plenty of examples to back up her case, but we know their relationship really started to sour after Toya’s pool party earlier this season.

As Mimi tried to explain her weird relationship with Toya, Eugene jumped in and admitted that he and Toya hadn’t taken enough time to get to know the Sanders. They’re still farily new to the group, and Eugene said he wanted to connect with them more. Maybe from there, some of this iciness can start to wear down.

Mimi said she felt hopeful that her and Toya could improve things, so that’s at least one relationship in this group making forward progress.

Toya’s got some red flags

Of course, Toya wasn’t going to let this dinner go by without forcing the group to play a game. Eugene knew he had to play along, or else.

Toya drew a card and read off a personality trait. Everyone had to raise a red flag or a green flag, depending on how they felt about the trait listed on the card. Easy enough, right? Things started off innocent but took a turn when Toya pulled a card that said, “They use their boundaries as an excuse not to grow.”

What exactly does that mean? Toya decided to share an example and referenced the Dr. Bernard drama between her and Angel. According to Toya, she was putting up a boundary when she broke girl code and tried to embarrass Angel in front of her date, who also just happened to also show up on this cast trip out of absolutely nowhere.

Of course, Toya’s description was not an accurate retelling of what happened, so Angel piped up and explained her side of things. With the correct context, everyone agreed that it was Toya showing off a red flag. Even Eugene agreed that his wife was in the wrong. His red flag went up.

Still, Toya didn’t want to let up. She feels like Angel betrayed her in some way by dating Bernard while also asking Toya to set her up with someone. She wasn’t worried about girl code and said Angel was on some “kiddie sh*t.” That accusation prompted Angel to get activated.

“Let me let y’all know something about Angel,” she began. “I’ve been engaged several times. I’ve been married. I never actually needed Toya to hook me up with anybody, baby. It’s not hard for me at all.”

Toya’s takeaway from all of this? Maybe they both just have “boundaries.”

Another messy Med Gala check-in

Although the ladies are supposed to be vacationing, Dr. Jackie said they desperately needed to have a Med Gala meeting after dinner. The event is swiftly approaching, but they still have zero details for what they’re going to do. They’ve spent all of this time fighting over an event that hasn not one detail planned.

Jackie dismissed the husbands from the table so they could chat through it. Toya said shew wanted everyoen on the same page, but it’s clear they are not.

Brandi complained that she and the other newer cast members didn’t have enough context about what had been going on with the Med Gala. Contessa said she was in the same boat. There’s also still uncertainy around how much money each person needs to donate. The whole thing is just messy., and Heavenly couldn’t wait to let Toya know that.

Naturally, the conversation started getting louder, Heavenly started getting more abrasive, and Eugene was standing off to the side, clutching his pearls as the conversation intensified. That’s when he did the thing that reality TV husbands should never do. He jumped in.

Eugene stormed over to the table and broke up the Med Gala conversation. He said he didn’t want to see his wife fight anymore. He’s had enough of the back and forth with Heavenly.

Eugene jumping into this Med Gala fight signaled a turning point in this Toya and Heavenly feud. Damon is now feeling frustrated that Eugene is inserting himself into the mess. Meanwhile, Eugene’s frustrated that Damon refuses to do it.

Either way, Eugene said he had reached a breaking point with Heavenly. After all of these seasons of watching her go back and forth with Toya, he’s had enough. He can’t stomach another second of it, so the next day, during a group outing with the other men, he decided to address it with Damon.

While Eugene felt like he was doing everyone a favor by inserting himself into the women’s argument, Damon had a different take. He thinks the women are totally capable of doing their reality TV jobs without the husbands refereeing.

“I think any of our wives can hold their own because they’re strong women,” he said.

Just like Toya, Eugene refuses to let it go. He’s convinced that something has to change for the sake of the Med Gala and probably his mental health. Toya warned him not to let Heavenly get under his skin, but it looks like it might have happened.

Married to Medicine airs on Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
