Maura Higgins is learning that hindsight is 20/20. The Love Island USA presenter played a good game in The Traitors and finished as runner-up. But she admits that she still doesn’t quite understand the show or the rules of the game. What’s more, she doesn’t mind.
Maura Higgins wishes she watched Traitors before joining Season 4
Maura has been doing the rounds since Season 4 of The Traitors wrapped up. Fans are still talking about the final reveal when she thought they had won, only to have the real winner, Rob Rausch, reveal that he was a traitor.
The pair appeared on Watch What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen to answer questions and reminisce about their time on the show. Rob also chose this guest spot to gift Maura with the much-awaited Birkin bag. We love a man of his word!
As for Maura, fans have often wondered how she was unable to discern that Rob was the traitor. Viewers presumed it was because there was something more than friendship between them. But they’ve both confirmed that’s not the case.
“Since you say you don’t watch reality TV shows you appear on before you compete on them, what was the biggest shock of The Traitors gameplay you wish you knew going in?” a fan asked Maura (at the 1:40 mark).
She thought about it, “Ooh,” she started. “I mean, I didn’t know anything about the show. So, I probably should have watched an episode or two. I think I still don’t understand the show, if I’m being honest,” she added. Rob chimed in that they did explain the rules.
Maura laughed, “But I don’t care, I got a Birkin, so, whatever.”
