Tyriq Withers is weighing in on his public image and the label tied to him. The Tell Me Lies actor has been deemed to be the “internet’s boyfriend.”
Tyriq appeared to be humbled by all of it, saying that he’s just enjoying the ride he is on right now. The internet has fallen in love with the man who was in the 2025 version of I Know What You Did Last Summer. His performance as Cameron or Cam Cade in Him has garnered critical acclaim.
Tyriq Withers is “grateful” for his fans online
Anyone who wants to be Tyriq’s internet partner should heed his warning. When asked the question by a reporter, Tyriq insisted, “You don’t want to be my internet partner.” He says that he’s “grateful that people resonate with what I do on the internet.”
Before making it big, Tyriq had been a regular vlogger, while filming pranks and sketches on his now-defunct YouTube channel. These days, many of his Instagram posts promote his upcoming projects or interviews. He is often seen with a big grin on his face and wearing fancy clothes.
He has a recurring role on the program Tell Me Lies, starring real-life couple Jackson White and Grace Van Patten. The two recently posed together for a Valentine’s Day campaign involving Calvin Klein.
Meanwhile, Tyriq’s performance in Him has earned him a nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture at the NAACP Awards. He’s also been nominated for Outstanding Breakout Performance for that film. Tyriq also earned a Black Reel Awards nomination for that movie.
He says that the love he’s gotten on the internet is a testament to “being myself and being enough.” Later this month, he will star in the film Reminders of Him alongside Maika Monroe. The film is currently in post-production and due to be released in theatres on March 13th.
