James Harden’s Fans Aren’t Impressed by His AI NBA Career Recap

NBA star James Harden has joined the growing list of celebrities embracing AI. He recently shared an AI-generated video that recapped his career, and his fans are far from enthused. The video messes up important details, including Harden’s name and his dominant hand while shooting. One fan ridiculed the video on X (formerly Twitter), calling it “bulls**t.”

NBA fans slam James Harden’s AI career recap

James Harden, known as one of the greatest shooting guards and scorers in the NBA, has sparked fan backlash with an AI career recap video. He shared the video on X and Instagram, with the caption, “utopai’s new model is (fire emoji).” The 69-second clip captures Harden’s journey from a young boy to the MVP-winning player fans have loved for years.

However, the same fans are not impressed with the video showing even the smallest details incorrectly. One of those is Harden’s name. In one frame, the name on the back of his jersey reads “Uno,” while in another, it reads, “Piufiis.”

Mocking the wrong name, a fan wrote on X, “delete this bulls**t, “Piufiis”,” alongwith a picture of the frame with the wrong name. Another user wrote, “Who????” with the same photo. Further, the video also renamed the real-life NBA Draft as ONA Dran.

Another incorrect detail that fans have noticed in the video is the player’s shooting style. He is a left-handed shooter, which is a defining feature of his playing style and offensive success. The clip, however, shows him shooting with his right hand. Fans have picked apart that detail online.

One fan posted a photo of the frame and wrote, “Shooting right handed… not even towards the basket.” Meanwhile, another user commented, “is this why you didn’t beat GS? Cause you were shooting righthanded?” Many fans also called him out for using AI instead of hiring a real artist for the video, pointing out that he earns millions.
