Conor McGregor Weighs in on UFC White House Card

Conor McGregor has finally addressed the buzz surrounding the upcoming UFC event planned at the White House. The former two-division champion shared his thoughts after speculation grew about whether he would fight on the highly talked-about card.

Conor McGregor said this about the UFC White House card

Conor McGregor recently opened up about the chance of fighting at the historic Ultimate Fighting Championship event scheduled for June 14. For a while, fans believed he might headline the card. The buzz grew louder when rumors linked him to a potential clash with Colby Covington.

That talk cooled down after Dana White addressed the speculation. White said that dependability will matter when the promotion locks in fighters for the lineup. His comments suggested McGregor may not be part of the event after all. Still, the Irish star said he remains hungry for a comeback.

McGregor stressed that he wants to get back inside the Octagon soon after spending a long stretch away from competition. “It gets me back in there, but you know, they veered off, and I’m not gonna be too picky,” he said while discussing possible opponents.

For anyone out of the loop, Conor McGregor has not stepped into the cage since July 2021. That was the night he broke his leg during the trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Since that injury, talk about his comeback has made the rounds again and again. Even so, Dana White says the conversation is still alive. He confirmed that the promotion continues to talk with McGregor about a potential return. “We are definitely talking to Conor,” White said (via Marca).

Meanwhile, the card is stacking up to be one of the most loaded nights in Ultimate Fighting Championship history. The headline fight is expected to see Ilia Topuria throw down with Justin Gaethje in a high-stakes lightweight clash. The co-main event could bring attention as Alex Pereira reportedly squares off against Ciryl Gane. Major stars like Sean O’Malley, Diego Lopes, Michael Chandler, and Bo Nickal are also expected to step into the cage, turning the event into a star-packed fight night.
