Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has a sleep expert extremely concerned. Pat Byrne believes that the mother of three could have suffered something very serious around the time she first went missing.
On February 1st, she was reported missing after not attending her traditional Sunday church service. Investigators believe that she was kidnapped in the early morning hours that day. Doorbell footage has led to a suspect description, but the search for a culprit and Nancy continues. The timing of Nancy’s disappearance could have led to some serious medical issues.
Nancy Guthrie was allegedly at “very high risk” of heart attack

Her alleged kidnapping could hardly have been good for Nancy’s tender heart. That’s according to sleep expert Pat Byrne. Speaking on Crime Stories with Nancy Grace on Saturday, he believes that she may have suffered a medical episode following her alleged kidnapping. Being taken at around 2am is a peak time when many are said to be in a deep sleep. Pat thinks Nancy may have incurred “sleep inertia.”
Nancy’s pacemaker, combined with the supposed time of her abduction, leads Pat to believe Savannah Guthrie’s mother was at a “very high risk” of a heart attack. Such an early and abrupt kidnapping, according to Pat can lead to disorientation and confusion. All of which is not good for the heart.
What Nancy used to help her heart is making headlines. That’s because investigators are reportedly exploring pacemaker technology in hopes of finding her. Police are hoping a signal sniffer may lead them to her. Nancy’s pacemaker apparently has Bluetooth technology.
The combination of disorientation and physical stress is not good for someone with a heart condition like Nancy, according to Pat. Savannah has offered a $1 million reward to anyone who has details about this case, leading to thousands of tips to the FBI. Nancy is 84.
