Netflix Reality Survival Show Winner Charged With Horrific Child Sex Crime

The winner of Netflix’s nature survival competition Outlast Season 1 is facing some very serious criminal charges.

According to jail records, Paul Preece Jr. was arrested on March 6 in Knox County, Tennessee. He was subsequently charged with rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery and attempted rape of a child.

Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Preece on Friday, March 6. He is currently being held in the Knox County Jail under a $150,000 bond. According to TMZ, a capias warrant was issued for Paul Preece’s arrest.

A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, he was reportedly working as a sales specialist at Tema Isenmann at the time of his arrest. Further details about his case have not yet been publicly released.

While competing on the show Outlast, amateur survivalists are dropped into the frozen Alaskan wilderness. They then form teams to help them survive the harsh conditions. At the end, the winner takes home a $1 million prize. During the show’s debut season in 2023, Paul shared the winnings with fellow Charlie Camp team members Seth Lueker and Nick Radner.

Initially a member of the Delta team, Paul switched over to Charlie Camp and eventually won, alongside his two remaining teammates.

Following the attention of being one of the Outlast winners, Paul tried to turn his Andy Warhol 15 minutes of fame into a podcast tied to the show. In 2023, he launched the Between the Horns podcast, which featured interviews with fellow Outlast contestants.

In February 2025, Netflix announced that Outlast had been renewed for a third season, but a premiere date has not been announced. Though TMZ reached out to the former reality star for comments, so far he has not responded.
