It’s only a short while until the highly-anticipated Season 22 of The Bachelorette premieres. One of the main reasons why fans are excited is because of its leading lady, Taylor Frankie Paul. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star is taking the reins of the dating show to find her true love.
This comes on the heels of a very chaotic split with her ex Dakota Mortenson. From an alleged fake affair to a child custody battle, it’s been one thing after another with these two. Is Taylor ready to shed her Dakota drama and restart with someone new? Her co-stars aren’t so sure.
Could Taylor Frankie Paul’s “trauma” hinder her Bachelorette experience?

Multiple of her SLOMW cast members have come forward to discuss Taylor’s upcoming Bachelorette run. And, in their eyes, they aren’t sure if it was good timing, especially Mayci Neeley.
“I don’t think she’s ready. I think she’s nervous, and also we’re nervous for her. I think she had a great experience, but I can’t really speak on it — I wasn’t there,” she told PEOPLE.
Similarly, Jessi Ngatikaura also has some reservations about Taylor going on The Bachelorette. She sees it less for actually looking for love and more like a rehabilitation experience to get over Dakota.
“I do think she learned a lot being there, and I think that she took away some really valuable lessons. I think it’s gonna be an incredible journey for people to watch.”
Jessi might be right about it being a healing journey. In a promo for Season 22, Taylor admitted that she was angry with herself over how her romance with Dakota and her divorce unfolded. Forgiving herself and moving on from the past is the only way she can give these eligible bachelors a chance.
The Bachelorette Season 22 premieres March 22 on ABC. It streams the following day on Hulu.
