Bad Bunny has made his return to Instagram. Taking to the social media platform, the musician (whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) shared a sweet photo to celebrate his 32nd birthday.
Bad Bunny was all smiles as he returned to Instagram on his birthday
On March 10, Bad Bunny shared a celebratory photo on Instagram for his birthday. In it, he smiled while holding up a heart-shaped chocolate cake surrounded by strawberries and topped with, of course, birthday candles.
Keeping the caption simple, Bad Bunny wrote: “32.”
The musician’s birthday post quickly racked up millions of likes and plenty of comments from fans. “The best birthday boy on the planet,” one follower wrote. “Feliz cumpleaños,” someone else said, which means “happy birthday” in Spanish.
Bad Bunny has been missing on Instagram since performing his history-making Super Bowl Halftime Show last month. He became the first artist ever to perform the 13-minute slot entirely in Spanish.
Not long afterwards, Bad Bunny deleted all his Instagram posts, including his profile photo. He also unfollowed everyone. Now, all that remains is a link to his Grammy Award-winning album, over 50 million followers, and a birthday post.
It’s still unclear why Bad Bunny wiped his Instagram and went quiet on the app. Some people theorized that he was preparing to make a big announcement, while others thought it was a response to the backlash he received for performing the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Spanish.
“Deletes all posts and unfollows everyone after the Super Bowl? Yeah, that’s a statement,” said @halftimeculture on X. “Both hate and love are good for his music business and image. Watch him drop an album or something soon,” wrote @ChigaemezuAnth1.
