Nicole Kidman is opening up for the first time since her recent divorce. The star of The Hours had been married to country music star Keith Urban for nearly two decades. The two officially divorced in early January.
As painful as that breakup has been for her and their kids, it is onward and upward for Nicole. She expressed gratitude to her family for helping her through this difficult time. Nicole is out promoting Practical Magic 2 as she reprises her role as Gillian Owens alongside fellow Oscar winner Sandra Bullock.
Nicole Kidman is grateful to be “moving forward”
Nicole is standing by her decision to split with Keith. In an interview with Variety, she said that she is “doing all right.” Her personal life took a toll in the latter stages of 2025, with her marriage to Keith crumbling. Since that marriage ended, it feels like it’s full steam ahead for the actress. “I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go,’ shared Nicole. She says that she is grateful for her family and is “moving forward.”
She’s focusing on her kids and getting back into the Hollywood scene. At the same time, she’s not closing the door to romance. On Monday, it was revealed that she has a particular set of terms laid out for those interested in dating her. Over the summer, she reportedly tried to keep her and Keith’s marriage together without success. The terms of their divorce settlement gives Nicole primary custody of the kids. Meanwhile, they both agreed to hold joint responsibility for major decisions regarding their daughters’ lives in the future.
Nicole admits that she’s been considering transitioning to the director’s side of the camera in the future. For now, though, she’s sticking with what she knows best. In addition, she wants to spend more time with her daughters. Practical Magic 2 comes out in theatres on September 11.
