Daniel Radcliffe Says This Harry Potter Co-Star Got an Early Story Scoop

Daniel Radcliffe spilled the beans, revealing which Harry Potter co-star scored an exclusive sneak peek before the books hit the shelves. Radcliffe’s tease has reignited the “Potter mania” that’s been simmering just beneath the surface. The news has the beloved series’ fans speculating about who it could be.

Daniel Radcliffe reveals the Harry Potter co-star who got a sneak peek of the story

In a tantalizing revelation, Daniel Radcliffe dropped the name of the Harry Potter co-star who was treated to an exclusive early glimpse of the latest installments of the fantasy novel series.

Radcliffe recently dubbed a pivotal scene in The Devil Wears Prada as pure fantasy. In the scene, Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) demands that her assistant, Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway), track down unpublished Harry Potter books for her.

However, during his recent appearance on Bustle’s One Nightstand podcast, Radcliffe shared that the film strayed from reality at that point. He thinks getting those books would’ve been a mission impossible, even for Priestley. As to why he believes it is fantasy, Radcliffe dropped a major bombshell for Potterheads.

During the podcast, host Charlotte Owen asked the titular protagonist if he and his co-stars got special access during filming. In his response, the 36-year-old said, “No, you had to wait ’til drop day, as well.”

Radcliffe further revealed that publisher Bloomsbury was super protective of the books before they hit the shelves. However, author J.K. Rowling would sometimes leak a tiny detail or two.

“I think Alan Rickman was the only person from the cast who was told anything in advance,” he recalled. But he, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and the rest of the cast didn’t get any sneak peeks and had to wait like everyone else.

In 2000, Rowling shared a secret with Radcliffe about Alan Rickman, who played Professor Snape in the movies. She had given Rickman some crucial insight into the character’s backstory. She revealed that she had told Rickman early on that Snape was in love with Lily, which explained why the Dark Arts professor hated James and took it out on Harry.
