Ed Sheeran recently revealed whether or not he would like to have a son, and his response was completely girl-dad coded. The English singer is already a father to two daughters, Lyra and Jupiter, whom he shares with his wife, Cherry Seaborn.
Ed Sheeran opens up about ‘maybe wanting another girl’ when asked if he ‘wants a son’
During his appearance on Episode 3 of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Ed Sheeran opened up about secretly wanting to have a son. When host Dave Burd, who goes by the stage name Lil Dicky, asked if the “Shivers” singer would like to have a son, he replied, “You know what? I don’t know. I don’t know. I think … I think maybe I’d want another girl. I think. I don’t know.”
Sheeran and Seaborn welcomed their first daughter, Lyra, in 2020. Two years later, they announced that they had welcomed another daughter, Jupiter. On the podcast, the singer revealed that they had Jupiter one week after he embarked on his tour. He further stated that his family went with him on tour.
When Burd asked if having a second kid makes a huge difference, the Shape of You singer said, “I think if you have them close, I mean, I’m just going based on my experience, but having them close together was like really chaotic to begin with and then it’s like so good because they just play together, bath together and sleep together and school together and everything’s like locked in.”
Last year, Sheeran opened up about how his children’s drawings inspired the tattoos on his legs. He told Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper, “My legs have actually started being my kids’ drawing book. So my daughter’s just done a little bunny rabbit for my leg, and you can put the date of it. It’s quite nice seeing it.” He also mentioned that he got his daughters’ footprints inked the week they were born.
