Ex-Chiefs star Trent McDuffie was asked about his interaction with Travis Kelce‘s fiancée, Taylor Swift, and how her personality is in real life. He revealed that he was nervous to meet the pop star at first, but she warmly greeted him, and her recognition of his position and name instantly made the moment special for him. McDuffie was recently traded to the Los Angeles Rams, with the Chiefs receiving four draft picks in exchange.

In an interview with ESPN Los Angeles, McDuffie opened up about his meeting with Swift, noting her warm nature in person. He said, “She is a very special woman. Down to earth, genuine. I remember when I first met her, it was a little bit of nerves but she gave me a big hug.”

What impressed him most was that she knew his name and his position on the team. “She knew my name, knew my position, knew football. And I was like, ‘Wow this is surreal. This is a moment I’ll remember forever.”

McDuffie revealed that just having a normal conversation with Swift was a pretty “cool” experience for him. Expressing his admiration for his ex-teammate and his fiancée, he concluded, “A lot of respect for Taylor Swift, and shoutout to Travis, too.”

In a recent Instagram post, Trent McDuffie addressed his departure from the Kansas City Chiefs. He revealed that he wasn’t prepared for this goodbye. He further thanked God for granting him the opportunity to play for the well-known team and revealed that when he first put on the Chiefs helmet, he was sure that “something powerful was in the making.”

McDuffie then thanked the coaching staff, teammates, and everyone involved. After that, he expressed his gratitude to fans worldwide for their love and support. “You welcomed me in with open arms. The last 4 years I learned what giving to a community truly means… Your love, support, and relentless can never be repaid. You are the best fans a football kid like me could dream of… And I’m thankful to have brought the Lombardi to the city, back to back,” he wrote.
