Donald Trump’s family is praising his resilience during a difficult time. Although he enjoyed some success in real estate and won two terms as President, Donald incurred a rough moment years ago.
His daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, was among those with him when the 2020 election results came down. He wound up losing to Joe Biden. While the loss was difficult to swallow, the wife of Eric Trump says that he had one thing on his mind upon discovering that the election didn’t go his way.
Lara Trump revealed how Don was “somber” after leaving the White House
While appearing on Pod Force One with Miranda Devine, Lara acknowledged Trump leaving the White House in 2021 was a “very somber moment.” Donald protested the results, believing he’d been cheated out of another victory.
Trump fought hard to have the results overturned, but Joe Biden was eventually confirmed as the winner and became the incoming President in 2021. Lara says Donald had one thought on his mind after initially vacating the White House. Upon sitting down for a family meal that year at his Palm Beach, Florida property, Donald declared, “I’ve got to do it again.”
In the end, he won the Republican nomination again ahead of the 2024 election. He went on to defeat Kamala Harris to earn a second term as President.
His second stint in the White House has not been without controversy. In February, he drew widespread criticism for a social media post involving Michelle and Barack Obama. The former President and first lady were depicted as apes, something even Republicans like Tim Scott called racist. Donald said a staff member made the post but hadn’t been fired or disciplined despite the backlash. The President says it depicts election fraud, which he maintains was why he lost the 2020 election.
