Have your tickets ready, folks! It’s Married to Medicine’s biggest night of the year, and you’re not getting in without paying a $150 admission. This week’s episode of M2M was the Season 12 finale, and yes, the highly anticpated Med Gala.

In last week’s epsiode, the ladies wrapped up their Jamaica trip, and Curtis brought some weird energy with his preachy comments about Quad’s IVF journey. Meanwhile, tensions reached an all time high over the swiftly approaching Med Gala. Toya scrambled to get the cast on board with her vision and was making zero progress, but in Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 14, “Med Gala Mishaps,” her vision came to fruiton.

What happened in Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 14?

After weeks and weeks of bickering about the Med Gala, Toya’s big day finally arrived. The theme was “Living Art,” and some people paid thousands of dollars to be in the room. Some paid hundreds, and some people didn’t pay at all. Either way, it all went to a good cause, and miraculously, most people were on their best behavior throughout the entire event. Still, Dr. Eugene was standing at the door, ready to enforce the rules of his wife’s controversial event.

A tale of two hundred texts

When the ladies got back from Jamaica, they only had a few days to piece together the details of this Med Gala, and everyone was very much struggling with it. Dr. Jackie and Dr. Simone met up for lunch to discuss.

Apparently, Toya had been blowing up their group chat with texts about the event. She changed the venue without telling anyone, and was still hounding everyone for money. No one had any idea where the money was even going. Meanwhile, Toya and Eugene felt like the ladies were sabotaging her efforts to bring the event to life.

The other lingering issue with the gala is that Toya put on the website that she and Jackie were the “founders” of the event. After some not-so-subtle pushback in the group chat, she conceded and decided to loop in the other longstanding members of the group. That included Simone, Quad, Dr. Heavenly, and Dr. Contessa. That also meant they all had to pay $2,500.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mimi, Brandi, and Angel were left out of the founders’ circle. Instead, they were just told to purchase a $150 ticket. Trust and believe that the tickets will be scanned at the door.

The Whitmores had a happy ending

One of the most talked-about scenes of M2M Season 12 was that painfully awkward dinner with Simone and her three children: Cecil, Michael, and Miles. The sons wanted to keep mooching off their parents’ money, Cecil sided with them, and Simone lost her mind. The poor camera guy probably lost his hearing that day.

The family drama had Simone questioning the state of their marriage, and it really seemed like they were back on the brink of divorce. However, things seemed to be back in a good place during this season finale.

The boys joined their parents for dinner, and Miles apologized for being so disrespectful earlier in the season. Cecil also expressed some remorse for how he treated Simone. Major progress.

Although it originally seemed like the kids were totally fine with just coasting off of their parents’ wealth for the foreseeable future, they’ve switched tunes. Miles said he wanted to “lock in” so that he could provide for Simone and Cecil one day. If he really feels that way, they’d better get started soon.

With that, Simone’s season full of family drama came to a close. Whether or not this will be enough to save things with her and Cecil? That’s TBD.

The Sanders got checked at the Med Gala

After countless fights, hundreds of texts, and thousands of dollars in donations, the day of the Med Gala finally arrived, and Mimi and Steve showed up without a ticket. They felt excluded from the planning process and threw down $5,000 last year. Why pay any more cash when Toya hasn’t been welcoming to them?

When Mimi and Steve tried to waltz into the gala, ready to soak in all of the custom artwork and fried chicken wings that Toya wrangled together for the event, a woman stopped them in their tracks. She wouldn’t let them through without a ticket.

Mimi and Steve told the woman that they were guests of Jackie’s. That didn’t fly, and Eugene came bopping over to them like some sort of Med Gala security guard. The only thing he was missing was a metal detector wand.

Eugene explained to them that the admission was going towards a scholarship fund, so the pair forked over the money. However, Steve later confronted Eugene about feeling “singled out.” The couples faced off right in the middle of the gala.

In one corner, Steve told Eugene that Toya and Eugene went about things the wrong way. Meanwhile, Toya refused to budge. She made it seem like Mimi and Steve were just being stingy about a $300 donation.

Eventually, Eugene did apologize that they felt “singled out,” but it’s clear these two couples aren’t going on any double dates anytime soon.

Curtis (kind of) apologized to Quad and King

While the Harris/Sanders feud spilled out in the middle of the Med Gala, Curtis made his way over to Quad and King to apologize for his misguided IVF comments. You know he got an earful from Jackie, and he had no choice but to apologize like a little kid being dragged by his ear.

“If what I said in Jamaica, if it offended you guys, I’m sorry,” Curtis said, before Jackie jumped in with a correction.

“We never say ‘if we offended’ because we offended,” Jackie added. ” Always want to say we’re sorry.”

That would have been perfect. They could have just left it there. But, Curtis decided to keep on rambling about God’s teachings like some sort of terrible youth pastor.

“We all have our beliefs in God and religion and whatever. We all have our own,” Curtis told Quad and King.

He continued, “I have my way of doing it. You guys, obviously, have your way of doing it.”

Suddenly, the bad taste came rushing back into everyone’s mouths, and we wished Jackie could just put some tape over her husband’s. Seriously, when is his next golf trip?

Toya was vindicated by Season 12’s Med Gala

Toya becoming the co-chair of the Med Gala was the ultimate setup, but she managed to make the best of it. Did she probably gain a few gray hairs in the process? Absolutely, but at the end of the day, no one had anything negative to say about this year’s gala. It went off without a hitch, even though the planning process was hellish.

After all of the drama of Season 12, the Med Gala wound up being the perfectly positive space to end the season. The cast even presented two Black med students with $5,000 scholarships, which will probably cover at least two textbooks next semester. Plus, Toya learned a valuable lesson about teamwork. Positive things all around!

You know she did a good job when even Heavenly jumped on the mic to give her public praise. To this day, Toya is probably still patting herself on the back about how good things turned out with the gala.

Season 12 ended with everyone hitting the dancefloor at the Med Gala, seemingly ready to move forward in harmony. Simone said she still felt a little dubious about Heavenly, but she didn’t let that ruin the gala. The M2M cast ended things on a high note with Season 12, even though we know from the reunion trailer that the kumbaya vibes didn’t stick around for very long.

Married to Medicine Season 12 reunion kicks off next Sunday at 8/7c on Bravo. You can always stream the show on Peacock.
