Donald Trump has made another enemy in the Newsom family. Gavin Newsom’s wife, Jennifer, is taking issue with the President’s mockery of her husband. Donald questioned the California Governor’s intelligence while alleging that he had a learning difficulty. Gavin has admitted in the past to having dyslexia problems.
The President’s controversial words against Gavin were echoed in a similar vein on Monday by White House spokesman Davis Ingle. Jennifer is firing back at the President for his remarks, sending a clear message that his words will not stand.
Jennifer Newsom won’t let President Trump’s comment slide
Jennifer doesn’t seem to subscribe to the old sticks and stones approach to insults. TMZ reports that she called out the President in her Instagram story on Monday for his harsh words, calling them offensive and ignorant. Donald, though, wasn’t the only one to feel her wrath. Jennifer slammed the Republican party for, as she put it, “normalizing this vile specimen of a human being.”
This all started when Donald called out Gavin, saying he has a “low IQ.” He went on to declare that the Governor is “all for people with learning disabilities, but not for my president.” For Donald, everything about Gavin is “dumb.” On Monday Davis called Gavin “the worst governor in America, and he also may be the dumbest.”
This is the latest in the ongoing feud between the two politicians. Last year, Gavin’s state initiated dozens of lawsuits against the President. The Governor has also questioned Donald’s immigration and public health policies. Gavin was particularly baffled by the President’s desire to conquer Greenland earlier this year.
California’s Governor is said to be among those interested in running for the Democratic nomination ahead of the 2028 Presidential elections.
