A legal commentator is voicing her opinion about a controversial decision made by Savannah Guthrie. The Today Show co-host has been away from the anchor desk for weeks as the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues.
It has been well over a month since Nancy was last seen. Nancy Grace has been keeping tabs on her search daily, with investigative experts adding their analysis on her show. The famed crime host recently weighed in on a big decision Savanah made regarding her future.
Savannah Guthrie is reportedly eyeing up a Today show return
Her mother is still missing, but Savannah is ready to go back to work. Earlier this month, she had an emotional visit with her colleagues on the show, while also sharing her intentions to return. Many are questioning the timing of that move and how she’ll be emotionally, given the uncertainty surrounding her mother.
On her Crime Stories podcast, Nancy wondered why so many are “piling on Savannah Guthrie.” She believes the attacks against her decision are unfair and unwarranted. There are still no suspects in the disappearance of Savannah’s mother, with the latter offering up a $1 million reward.
Her decision to return is reportedly not going over so well with some at the show. According to an insider talk shows like Savannah’s are extremely cutthroat and people will do anything to get ahead. By the sounds of it, some people were hoping Savannah’s empty anchor seat would give them a step up on the program.
That is a sharp contrast to how the show has been labelled in the past. It’s been previously described as a family environment, with everyone caring deeply for one another. Nancy was last seen on January 31, heading home after dinner with her daughter, Annie. Authorities believe she was kidnapped, releasing a suspect description weeks ago. There’s no date yet as to when Savannah will return to her show.
