The Bachelorette star Taylor Frankie Paul continues to share custody of her son with his father Dakota Mortensen. Despite an ongoing investigation into allegations of child and spousal abuse, the couple are still co-parenting at this time.
The former Secret Lives of Mormon Wives couple have a son Ever True, who turns two years old this week. As of now they are still sharing custody, while the Utah Division of Child and Family Services is conducting an investigation.
Allegedly, the couple haven’t seen or spoken to each other in three weeks, not since a heated argument turned physical. Dakota was reportedly the one who contacted police. It’s unclear at this time whether the authorities are investigating Taylor, Dakota or both.
Taylor and Dakota are sharing custody amid an investigation
Taylor and Dakota endured intense public scrutiny and the disapproval of family and friends, as well as multiple breakups. Ultimately, they split for good in late 2024 amid cheating allegations. Nevertheless, they reportedly hooked up in early 2026, just before Taylor left to film The Bachelorette.
According to TMZ, things are so fraught between Taylor and Dakota right now, that they can’t even handle in-person custody exchanges of their son. They have other people transferring Ever between his parents, while they avoid contact with each other.
At the moment, production of SLOMW Season 5 is suspended while the investigation takes place. Reportedly, none of her former MomTok crew wants to be associated with Taylor’s drama anyway. In the meantime, Taylor and Dakota have both been ordered to undergo psych exams.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s starring in ABC’s The Bachelorette, which is set to premiere on March 22. But the show must go on, and ABC has no plans to delay the premiere.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4 is now streaming on Hulu.
