The price was always right for Bob Barker on and off camera of his renowned game show. At least that’s what the late host’s representative believes. Many allegations of sexual harassment on the late pop culture icon’s longtime show, The Price Is Right have come out. Bob was accused of ignoring numerous complaints of inappropriate behavior during his time as the host.
In a docuseries called Dirty Rotten Scandals, Kathleen Bradley, Holly Hallstrom and Barbara Hunter alleged that The Price Is Right had a culture of sexual harassment in the early years. Kathleen and Holly were models on the game show, with Barbara previously serving as a producer. Bob began hosting the show in 1972 before retiring in 2007.
Roger Neal said Bob Barker “was and is beloved”
Roger Neal represented the animal rights activist for years. In a statement to USA Today, he called the allegations against Bob erroneous. “Barker was and is beloved, and people to this day love him,” said Roger. His statement goes on to say that Bob “was part of the fabric of American pop culture.” He says that it was a massive pleasure to work with him for so long.
On Tuesday, Barbara alleged that one of the stagehands on the game show had a reputation for being handsy with women. She says that her concerns about that fell on deaf ears. In 2007, Holly accused Bob of silencing women who complained about harassment. She was among the Barker Beauties who blasted the show earlier this week.
Holly had previously acknowledged an alleged affair Bob had with former model Dian Parkinson. This reportedly occurred while Bob was dating Nancy Burnet. Dian filed an $8 million sexual harassment suit against Bob in 1994, dropping the case the following year. Bob previously sued Holly for libel and slander. This came after she told news outlets that her firing was due to her weight gain through medication. He dropped that suit days before a trial was to begin. Bob died in 2023.
