This major comeback marks the resumption of their group activities after almost four years. Now, a report claiming that BTS could have a greater impact than Taylor Swift’s with their upcoming world tour has resurfaced.

A report on the beloved K-Pop boy group BTS having the potential to surpass Taylor Swift with their “ARIRANG” World Tour has resurfaced amid news of their new album release. It is a report by The Guardian, which reported that Taylor Swift’s Eras tour sparked approximately $5bn across the US, in direct consumer spending. The news outlet also claimed that the economists have been anticipating that, in economic activity, the North American leg of BTS’ upcoming world tour will yield tens of billions of dollars along the way.
According to the news outlet, a marketing professor at Northwestern University, Timothy Calkins, said, “The BTS tour will be the event of the year.” The expert continued, “Every stop is going to see a boost in tourism, hotel occupancy, and economic activity.” The expert also added, “to an extraordinary degree that might be even bigger than Taylor Swift.”
Now, The Korea Times has re-reported the The Guardian’s original report about BTS’ comeback and world tour, making the original report resurface. Per the news outlet, the upcoming world tour by the boy group, with more than 80 shows across 34 regions worldwide, will generate giant economic activity, according to the projections by analysts. In the meantime, per the news outlet, the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute has estimated that BTS’s upcoming “ARIRANG” World Tour is all set to generate 1.2 trillion won per show, which is $840 million.
Meanwhile, apart from the world tour and the album release, BTS’s live performance, “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE,” will stream on Saturday, March 21, at 8:00 p.m. KST, exclusively on Netflix worldwide. Additionally, “BTS: The Return,” a related documentary, will be released on the streaming platform on Friday, March 27.
