For days, everyone has been talking about the alleged domestic violence incident between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen. Though the pair have conflicting stories about what happened, filming was paused on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5.
But now a representative for Dakota is breaking silence to tell his side of the story.
Dakota Mortensen “has always wanted a decent relationship” with Taylor Frankie Paul

“[Dakota’s] number one priority here is protecting [their 2-year-old son] Ever,” the spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly. “He knew … it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that … [Dakota] has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor … He wants to co-parent well.”
According to his rep, Dakota was hoping if he kept his mouth shut, the drama would eventually subside. “[But] he realizes with the severity of everything now, that he just can’t do that.”
On Monday, March 16, news broke that production on SLOMW Season 5 had been halted. Police were investigating an alleged incident between the former couple. Though local police haven’t commented on details, they confirmed that officers met with both parties “on [Feb.] 24th and 25th.”
While preparing for the March 22 premiere as The Bachelorette, Taylor has been trying to keep her personal issues private. She and Dakota haven’t spoken to each other in three weeks and are using third parties for custody exchanges of their son.
For her part, Taylor addressed the situation in an interview with Good Morning America. “Honestly, it’s been a heavy time,” she said. “I’m a person that will always speak my truth … So when the time is right, I will. But right now, [I’m] just trying to be in the present moment and focus on this.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4 is now streaming on Hulu.
