As lawmakers and survivors are pressing for more answers, The Times reported that Nancy Pelosi is demanding that ex-Prince Andrew provide answers over his link with Jeffrey Epstein. Pelosi commented on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. She spoke about the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s efforts to hear from people associated with Epstein.
Pelosi said, “My understanding from the committee and my knowledge of the Congress is that we have promised the survivors that we would hear from everyone, and so that really means everyone.”
Additionally, she said that the victims deserve to hear from anyone who can help investigators fill in the gaps. She explained she might not know “what the regulations are from one country to another.” However, she said that those in the files “owe us answers so that we can be a comfort to the survivors and have some justice.” Pelosi did not hesitate when asked if Andrew had a moral obligation to appear, saying, “He should give answers.”
The report noted that Democrats previously asked Andrew to provide information. However, he has not responded, and the key limit of Congress is that it cannot compel a foreign national to appear.
Andrew’s name and photos appear repeatedly in the Epstein files along with other high-profile names. However, he has denied allegations related to the late financier.
