Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.
Taylor Frankie Paul is currently in the hot seat. After a video resurfaced, showing Taylor throwing barstools at her ex while her daughter cried in the background, everyone started distancing themselves from Taylor. Except for Doug Mason, one of her suitors from Season 22 of The Bachelorette.
Doug Mason told fans to be “hopeful”
After ABC caught wind of this horrific video, they released a statement, canceling Season 22 of The Bachelorette. Yet, before they made this call, Doug introduced himself online as one of Taylor’s suitors. “Heard you were looking for a husband,” Doug penned in his video. “Look no further,” he added.
Well, according to Reality Steve, Taylor did look at Doug. In fact, she reportedly looked so hard that Doug actually won Season 22. Whether this is true or not, Doug is clearly still a fan. Even still, Doug has nothing but supportive vibes to lend to Taylor.
Through his Instagram Stories, which Entertainment Weekly shared, Doug released a statement of his own. “In light of everything that has happened, I am just sending prayers to Taylor because that was her moment, and her moment was blocked. All we can do right now is just be hopeful,” he said. Doug then “headed off to run to watch the sunrise,” but before he signed off, he urged his followers and Taylor’s fans to “have a great day, and let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.”
We have no way of knowing if Doug actually won Season 22. However, as Reality Steve further claimed, whatever happened there, Doug and Taylor called it quits anyway shortly after filming.
The Bachelorette is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
