Nicole Scherzinger was lost for words when asked about the absent members of The Pussycat Dolls, following their recent reunion as a trio. The Tony winner has made a comeback alongside Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, as part of a revival of the iconic ’00s girl group. The band debuted back in 2003, before disbanding in 2010.
Last month, ex-member Carmit Bachar seemingly hit out at the trio for leaving her out. Additionally, previous members Jessica Sutta and Melody Thornton appear not to have been invited for the new single, “Club Song,” as well as the upcoming tour. When asked about their smaller size on Today, it made for an awkward moment.

When asked why they decided to come back as a trio, there was a painfully awkward silence. After briefly stumbling over her words, Nicole began, “As women today…”
Luckily, it was Kimberly to the rescue to help out her friend. She justified the decision by pointing out the group has always had “an ever-changing line-up.” Kimberly continued, “We’ve got to protect our peace.”
“When something like the Pussycat Dolls that has so much history, we have ruptured,” she went on to explain. “And right now, we’re repairing.”
Kimberly hinted they would be open to letting the other three rejoin the group. Nicole then joined in the conversation, saying they’ll always have “love and respect” for all the group’s members, past and present.
One person who may be difficult to convince is Carmit. Back in February, the former member threw shade at the trio following news of their planned reunion. In an Instagram story, she shared a post with the lyrics “F*ck anything that don’t help me grow / fake friends shiesty h*es / letting all that bullsh*t go.”
Additionally, fellow ex-member Jessica also criticized Nicole for failing to inform her of the cancelled 2022 tour before it was announced on her Instagram page.
