Prince William has made no secret of his plans to overhaul the monarchy when he becomes King. He reportedly had a big hand in removing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s titles last year. And allegedly played a part in banning Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie from Royal Ascot this summer. Now, the once-close bond he had with his cousins seems to be lost forever.
How does Prince William feel about Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie?

To recap, the former Prince Andrew was recently stripped of his titles and kicked out of his Royal Lodge mansion. He was later arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office due to his mention in the Jeffrey Epstein files. While he has always denied any wrongdoing, the impact of the scandal on both himself and his daughters has been clear.
The Prince of Wales, in particular, is keen for the York sisters to take a step back. This is a shocking turn of events, given that they have previously held pretty high-profile roles in the firm.
“William used to see Beatrice and Eugenie as possible allies in the future. [They were] dependable relatives who could quietly support the monarchy if needed,” a source told OK! magazine. “But the atmosphere has changed dramatically, and William really has done a startling U-turn.”
“After everything that has happened around Beatrice and Eugenie’s parents, he is far more cautious about who represents the royal family publicly,” the insider went on.
As for why William is taking such a hard stance? “[He’s] seen firsthand how quickly scandals can spiral and dominate the narrative around the monarchy,” the source suggested.
“As a result, William has become extremely alert to anything that could even hint at reputational risk,” they continued. “Even distant associations with ongoing scandals now raise serious questions in his mind about whether someone should be placed in a visible role representing the crown.”
